mixed media, acrylic paint, collage on canvas

I’m constantly surprised at what becomes art out of the bits and pieces of scraps I randomly create. Often these pieces have no connection and come about because I like to play with paint on paper and canvas and experiment with collage. This particular little acrylic mixed media work on an artist panel is one such artwork. It began with me just cleaning my brushes at the end of a paint session to get rid of the extra paint I had been using on another work. It sat until another night when I added more paint, scratched circles into a thick medium that I had added, and stopped. Yet another night I took the trimmed ends of a paper figure I created and glued them to the panel. Once I did that I had no idea where to go next. So I let it sit. While working on another piece I ended up cleaning my brushes on a piece of paper and developing that paper with more strategically placed paint. I glued a piece of that to the middle of this artist panel. And voila! Art! Random is good.
